Practice Makes Profit : Efficiently Conveying Information on Landing Pages

Practice Makes Profit is a design anthology curated from my favourite practice designs. 

Each project highlights a unique UX and UI theory and decision.

This sleek, modern landing page highlights an interface for 

image based information delivery on the left side of the screen it 

includes fullscreen viewing as well as a scrolling gallery.

One other key feature of this landing page is its navigation of brand. 

Positioned above the title of the product is the users' position 

on the website using "breadcrumbs". The top left hand corner

contains a menu button. At the top of the page are external links to 

the brands social media page.  Contact information also appears enhancing

customers the potential for connecting with the brand.

This landing page highlights several beauty products

and an ability to scroll through the three products. 

The principle exemplified is state change signaling a users position in their 

journey on our web page. The changes are kept subtle yet distinct with 

a dissolve transition displaying unique images and descriptive text.

 The vertical product shot display remains in place tying together

 the changing states and keeping the user grounded in their overall position on our site.

PROTOTYPE

 

THEPEAKS.COM

A minimal UI using only two colours that do not appear naturally in the images.

UI does not have to incorporate a smorgasbord of elements to be effective. 

There is one image repeated and driven down in saturation to act as a cool 

and bold background. The original image is sized down and given a drop shadow

to encourage it to further stand out from its counterpart and add some depth.

The standout element of this design is the vertical rectangle in the middle of the page

that draws the eyes to the inlaid picture and contrasts well with the blue in the image.
